Able & Baker: Episode 17-National Police Week/End of MN legislative session

Able & Baker: Episode 17-National Police Week/End of MN legislative session

Former Minneapolis police officers, Chris and Karina Kelley, discuss National Police Week and the end of the MN state legislative session.
In 1962 President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day, it is now a week long event that commemorates fallen law enforcement officers. There is a National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington DC as well as in most cities nationwide. The Minnesota law enforcement memorial is in St. Paul and is administered by the MN Law Enforcement Association (LEMA).  Chris and I have attended several memorial services at this site and the dedication of this organization in honoring fallen officers is tremendous! From the honor guards to the roll call and candle light vigil you are instantly humbled at the sacrifice these officers made. It is important that we continue to honor these great men and women who have given their lives to keep their communities safe.  God bless them all!
Chris and I also discuss the accomplishments of the DFL at the end of this legislative session. The DFL won a trifecta majority this year and while some of the population is happy, the other is not; we discuss the many bills that were introduced and passed.
Thank you so much to our listeners! We are continually growing and making new connections with people. We are honored that you take the time to listen to us, we promise to keep you entertained and informed!
